Tradition, Please Don't Go, Is Blackwell's quiet, yet powerful cry for mother nature and the traditions of our elders. Social media and electronic entertainment are becoming increasingly involved with emerging generations, and as their may be positive results to using these media, if not monitored it may lead to non-beneficial human qualities that detach oneself from nature. Blackwell has hung a Stag-horn Sumac branch with handmade paper rope above 250 laser-cut woodblock prints, an image of her trying to unbind herself from the Stag-horn branches. The Stag-horn Sumac is a versatile tree that constantly gives. One may harvest its buds for spices, its bark for dies, and it is hardy enough to carry its buds throughout the winter to enable a harvest. This tree gives and gives, as does mother nature. Tend to her, and do not let her go to waste.
